Christmas in Suffield is a unique experience. No other community in our area features multiple Christmas fairs on the same day. This year six fairs will be held on November 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fellowship Hall at First Church will open at 9 a.m., with a juried craft fair, bake sale, attic treasures and a country store featuring Vermont cheeses, slab bacon and other delicacies staffed by the Men’s Fellowship. From 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., there will be a Victorian Tea in the church parlor featuring teas, sandwiches, desserts and a variety of teas. Admission to the tea is $12 and advance tickets are available at the church office. Outside the parlor room, there will be a raffle for a hand made afghan.Across the street at the Second Baptist Church, you will find their Fellowship Hall teeming with activity. They will be selling plants, Christmas decorations, stitchery and knitted items, costume jewelry and a bake sale which also features jams, jellies and preserves. There will be attic treasures upstairs in the activity room. A luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. with macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, soup, clam chowder, apple crisp and coffee.
The Third Baptist Church will be featuring lovely Christmas arts and crafts from various vendors, a bake sale, a white elephant table and pick up some pecans for your holiday baking.
The Suffield Fire Department Auxiliary at the Mountain Road main firehouse will be alive with activity selling jewelry, doll furniture, hand-spun textiles . Don’t forget to pick up special goodies at the Firehouse Bake Shop.
Sacred Heart Women’s Guild will host its Annual Christmas Bazaar as part of Christmas in Suffield. Many crafters, baked goods, delicious chili from Suffield Pizza, for luncheon enjoyment at the Cafe or take out will be featured this year. The alpacas will be back this year so that bazaar goers can see the source of the beautiful socks, scarves and sweaters on sale. All the crafters, as well as many local and area businesses and individuals, have donated gift items for the raffle. The proceeds from the Christmas Bazaar have been dedicated to the Women’s Guild Scholarship Fund. In June high school seniors will receive grants from funds raised at this annual event. For more information please call Guild President, Linda Morrell at 860-668-4246. The Bazaar is held in the parish hall, which is located at 446 Mountain Road (Route 168).
West Suffield Congregational Church will again have their SERRV International Bazaar featuring artisans from around the world, a bake sale and white elephant table. There will also be other vendor tables offering holiday gifts and a teacup auction. Take a moment to sit back and savor hot soup and fresh bread and top it off with a piece of warm apple pie sold by the slice with a cup of steaming coffee.
Each organization hopes that you will stop in and enjoy part of your day with them.
