They’re Not Bike Lanes

To answer the question many have asked this summer: No, the white sidelines that have appeared on Suffield roads recently don’t mark narrow bicycle lanes. The Town highway crew is painting the lines to mark the standard width of the automobile lanes. The work is part of the Town’s cooperative effort with the Suffield Police and the Connecticut Traffic Authority to improve traffic safety. This scene is on Russell Avenue, at the Ffyler Brook Bridge.
