Practice Reading to A Dog!

The library invites young readers to practice their reading with a dog from Allan’s Angels Certified Therapy Dog Team on Saturday, November 19 between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Working on your reading? Want to show off your skills? Think it sounds like fun? Come read to a certified dog (you can bring a book or pick one out here). All dogs have been trained, tested and certified for therapy work. Individual reading sessions last 15 minutes and are at 10:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Come read to a furry friend! Registration in progress. Play-Group

The library is offering a Play-Group on Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon. Want to meet other parents and kids? New to town? Come to Play-Group, offered to care-givers and children, Friday mornings any time between 10 a.m. and Noon. No age restrictions, no registration required — just drop in. We are at 61 Ffyler Place during renovations on the library. For further information, call the library.

Baby Rhyme Time

Join us for Baby Rhyme Time, infants to age 2. We will run it on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Join us for books, songs, rhymes and fun! No registration required, just drop in. We are located at a temporary location during renovations: 61 Ffyler Place. For further information, call the library.

Time for Tots

Kent Memorial Library invites toddlers, 1 to 3 years old, and a parent or caregiver to join us for an hour long program of stories, activities and play-time. This four-week series is being offered on Wednesdays and began on October 26 at 10:15 a.m. Register online or call the library.

Family Wreath Decorating Party

The library invites families to decorate a grapevine wreath on Saturday, November 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. Adults and children (ages 5 and up) will assemble autumn and winter ornaments to attach to their holiday wreath. A bow-making demonstration will be presented. All wreaths and crafts will be provided by the Friends of Kent Memorial Library. You can register for this program by calling the library or online at www.suffield-library.org. Polar Express: A Story Time

Children ages 3 to 5 are invited to join us on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. or Wednesday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. for a Polar Express Story Time. During this hour-long program children will travel to the North Pole in a train, drink hot cocoa, make a craft, meet Santa and hear the story The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. Wear your PJ’s if you’d like.

Decorate a Gingerbread House

On Saturday, December 10, children ages 5 to 15 are invited to decorate a preassembled Gingerbread House. The gingerbread house, frosting and candy will be provided. Registration is limited and you can register online at www.suffield-library.org or by calling the library. This program will be held at Second Baptist Church. This program is funded by the Friends of Kent Memorial Library. Suffield residents only.
