Parks and Rec LogoYouth Basketball

It’s time to register for recreational youth basketball! We currently are accepting on line registrations for this program through November 28. The Parks & Recreational youth basketball program teaches your children skill progressions, team work, and overall good sportsmanship. This fun – non-competitive program is a great way for your children to socialize and get exercise this winter.

Kindergarten children will learn at their own pace in a program designed to introduce them to the basic skills and fundamentals of basketball. This program is held on Saturday mornings beginning January 7.

Children in grades one and two will play in the Mini Hoop program, and continue to enhance their skills using modified equipment, lower hoops and smaller size balls. This program is held on Saturday mornings beginning January 7.

Children will continue to enhance their skills, teamwork and develop game play appropriate for their respective grades and gender as follows: grades three and four, grades five and six, and grades seven and eight. Girls will play on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and boys will play on Thursdays and Saturdays, beginning January 4.

Volunteer coaches are needed for these programs – this is a great opportunity for parents to keep active this winter and share memorable experiences with your children and their friends! Please indicate that you would like to volunteer during the registration process.

Fast Break Fun

Prepare for the upcoming recreational basketball program by participating in the Fast Break Fun basketball program. Boys and girls will be introduced to a fresh new approach to basketball skills, techniques, and more, all in a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere. This is great for pre-season warm up!

Local residents and coaches Becky Klein and Jason Qua, will be conducting this clinic.

This clinic will be held after school at the McAlister School Gym on Tuesday, November 29.

Register online before November 22 at: www.SuffieldRec.com. The fee for this clinic is $13.
