EAA logoSupport the EAA Annual Appeal Campaign

You should have recently received the Emergency Aid Association’s annual appeal letter. We ask that you support our campaign at any funding level you can. The Emergency Aid Association, (EAA), is here today, as it has been for over 110 years, to provide supportive health and social services for Suffield families and individuals.

Your donation will make a difference right here in your own community. We can’t accomplish our goals without you! For more information, please call the EAA at 860-668-1986 or go to our website: www.suffieldeaa.org.

Holiday Baskets

The Emergency Aid Association coordinates the Holiday Basket Program for Suffield residents. Residents wishing to receive help for the holidays are encouraged to call Janet at the EAA to see if they qualify at 860-668-1986.

Please Support the Salvation Army Kettle Drive

Did you know that the money that is raised through the Salvation Army Kettle Drive stays in Suffield? The donations are used throughout the year to support various programs for persons in need. This past August, the EAA distributed filled backpacks to 122 Suffield youth. The donations raised through the kettle drive provided the funding to purchase backpacks and shoe vouchers as well.

The kettle will be at the Subway/Dunkin Donut plaza, across from the new CVS, on Mountain Road several weekend days in December. Please support the drive and the residents of Suffield who will benefit from your donation.

EAA Taking Applications for the CT Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) and the Contingency Heating Assistance Program (CHAP) which begins November 2016

These government programs are designed to help offset the winter heating costs for eligible households. The goal is to assist eligible Connecticut residents with their fuel needs so that their health is not jeopardized by the inability to afford critical heat. If eligible, and beginning November of 2016, residents may be able to get assistance for heat. Proof of income and liquid assets are required at the time of application for all household members. Both homeowners and renters are encouraged to apply. Please contact the EAA for more information or to schedule an appointment at 860-668-1986. Residents who heat with a deliverable heat source will be prioritized. More information on eligibility is available at www.ct.gov/staywarm
