Parks and Rec LogoBe sure to check out the Parks and Recreation Department upcoming winter activities that are sure to keep you and your children engaged during the cold months ahead.

Exciting art classes such as: Around the World Creativity Tour, a continuation of the popular fall art program, Fun Clay Figure Making, Cool Art from Far Away Places and Very Cool Valentines and Crafts are on the schedule.

Children who like to explore science and construct with LEGO blocks can participate in Super Hero Engineering and Mad Science programs.

For the children who enjoy fitness and athletic activities, Kids Fitness Challenge, Speed Training, Horseback Riding Lessons and Gymnastics will be offered.

A Babysitter Safety Course will be offered to boys and girls, ages 10-15, who are interested in learning skills to be a responsible babysitter. This four hour entry level course is intended to teach age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages. Students can spend part of their February vacation by taking the course, which will be held on Tuesday, February 21, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Adults can get fit for the New Year! We will be offering Lunch Time Walkers, Power Lunch Hour, Bowling Friends, Boxilates, Gliding Express, Boxilates/Glider Express Combination and Recreational Volleyball. There will also be a Golf Swing improvement class.

A complete list of programs will be available mid-December: look for our winter brochure online, on the schools’ Virtual Backpack or stop by our office located at 97 Mountain Road for a paper copy. Pre-registration and payment is required for all programs.
