The History, Lore & Legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps Camps in Connecticut By Martin Podskoch, Author. Mr. Podskoch will give a Power Point presentation on his new book. He will include pictures gathered from the CT DEEP and former CCC members and their families.

Rita Schiano: Living A Less Stressed, More Flourishing Life.An educating and entertaining exploration of stress and how it impacts us. We have a capacity for resilience, behaviors, thoughts, skills, and actions that can be learned and developed in anyone to counter stress.

Jeffrey Engel: Mozart and Mendelssohn: Stupendous Child Prodigies. The name Mozart is synonymous with the word prodigy. He certainly displayed incredible talent as a composer, pianist and violinist at a ridiculously young age. Mendelssohn is usually ignored in the conversation about prodigies, but he was no less extraordinary and topped Mozart in at least one way.

Great Decisions(8 weeks, every other week). Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs, designed by the American Foreign Policy Association. Individuals who register for the program will receive a Briefing Book, paid for by The Friends of Kent Memorial Library. The Briefing Book will be available in January 2017. Participants will read about the issue in the Briefing Book before the discussion. Topics are Europe Trade and Politics, Conflict in the South China Sea, Saudi Arabia in Transition, U.S. Foreign Policy and Petroleum, Latin America, Prospects for Afghanistan and Pakistan, and Nuclear Security
