Suffield Academy continues progress with construction projects identified as part of a campus master plan endorsed by the Board of Trustees in 2011.

Brodie Hall is now being constructed behind the former Montgomery home on North Main Street. The Academy worked with Suffield’s Historic District Commission in the summer of 2016 to design Brodie Hall to incorporate the turn-of-the-century barn that existed on the site into a new structure.

As a result, the Academy is rebuilding the barn in the exact same location, utilizing the exact same volumes and same materials and color as the original structure.

The Academy is reusing a few salvageable parts of the original structure, including three large barn doors on the east façade, refurbished and incorporated onto the new building.

The Academy plans to use Brodie Hall as temporary classrooms for one year before converting it to its ultimate use as a dormitory.
