On October 16 at 6:30 p.m in the Suffield High School auditorium, the results of a Youth Assessment Survey (YAS) conducted for students in grades 7-12 will be presented by Christine Miskell of the Southeastern Regional Action Council (SERAC).

State Representative Tami Zawistowski will review actions underway at the State level to address substance abuse and the opioid crisis.

With the information provided about our youth and their attitudes and behaviors regarding substance use and abuse, our community can plan strategies and programs that strive to increase protective factors, and decrease risk factors.

All are welcome to attend and parents are encouraged to bring their high school and middle school students which will be an excellent opportunity for all family members to hear the same facts and to provide a foundation for continued discussion at home.

Forum attendees will be invited to participate in breakout groups to discuss survey results and suggest actions that we can take as a community regarding substance abuse concerns.
