Advice from Ann Landers:

Call up a forgotten friend, pay a debt, find the time to be kind and thoughtful, try to understand a point of view that is different than your own, apologize when you realize you are wrong, avoid malcontents and pessimists, don’t be afraid to say, “I love you”, take better care of yourself, encourage some youth to do his or her best, give a soft answer.
