The Suffield Arts Council has put together a fine February exhibit at the Pinney Gallery, found at Suffield’s Kent Memorial Library. This show will feature the work of noted artist Art Scholz, of Tolland, who returns “by popular demand.” It will be on display at the Library’s temporary home, at 61 Fflyer Place, off Mountain Rd., behind CVS.

Mr. Scholz is a retired freelance illustrator whose versatility and experiences spanned the fast-paced world of advertising and publishing, based in New York City for more than forty years. Art is now established as a fine watercolorist. His vibrant paintings skillfully capture images of the countryside and seashores of New England, all in close harmony with nature. Each painting is portrayed in a fresh, colorful, and expressive style that has garnered many awards and much recognition.

His diverse talent may be found in paintings accepted into International shows including “Birds In Art,” Woodson, Wis.; the “Marine Art Exhibition,” Mystic, Conn.; and the permanent collection of FFAST Foreign Artists Museum in Tuscany, Italy.

He has achieved national recognition in shows of the Connecticut and Rhode Island Watercolor Societies, Allied Artists of America, American Artists Professional League NYC, and the Laumeister Fine Art Competition, Bennington, Vt.

Art Scholz is an active member of the Academic Artists Association, Connecticut River Valley Artists, and the Connecticut and Rhode Island Watercolor Societies. He runs workshops, offers lessons in his home, and provides service to art groups through critiques, demonstrations, and show judging.

Examples of his work may be found on line at:  art-scholz.fineartamerica.com and scholzart.com.

This show runs from February 2 through 28. It appears through the efforts of the artist, the library staff, and the Suffield Arts Council.
