The photography contest announced by the Kent Memorial Library for the month of February has been extended through the month of March.  Suffield adults, along with students in the Suffield Public Schools, are encouraged to enter one unpublished, mounted photo each, taken at any time in Suffield, in any one of three categories:

1.) Faces in Suffield

2.) Suffield Landscapes

3.) Suffield History

The photographs can be in black & white or color and should highlight the beauty and diversity of Suffield in its people, buildings, history, and landscapes. The image size should be no smaller than 4 x 5 inches and no bigger than 11 x 14 inches. The mounted size must be no larger than 16 x 20 inches. Prizes will be awarded, with support from the Friends of the Kent Memorial Library.

There is no admission charge. An application form, available at the library and on the library’s website must be attached to the back of the mounted photograph. In addition, a digital image with contact information and its contest category should be sent to Jackie Hemond, the Library Director, at photocontest22018@gmail.com.

Each person may enter only one photograph.

One grand prize winner will be awarded $50. The top winner for each age group in each of the categories (a total of 9 possible winners) will receive $25. At least 9 honorable mention winners will be awarded $10 each. Additional honorable mentions may be awarded at the discretion of the judges.

The complete rules are available at the Kent Memorial Library, 61 Ffyler Place and on suffield-library.org.
