Ms. Chanel Poitras is the World Languages Student of the Month for October. Chanel is currently a senior at Suffield High School, where she is a member of ASL III class. Chanel exhibits not only a superior level of skill in American Sign Language, she approaches her study of ASL with enthusiasm and a genuine respect for the culture and the language itself. Chanel is a leader in her class and cheerfully serves as a model to the other students. Chanel has excellent receptive and expressive skills in the language which is a direct result of her commitment to her study of ASL.
We are very happy to offer our World Language Student of the Month award to an American Sign Language student for the first time. Chanel’s hard work and dedication to the mastery of the language help to make our ASL classes at Suffield High School both rewarding and applicable to the real world.
