The Second Baptist Church of Suffield is pleased to announce the fifteenth Annual Community Christmas Concert. This annual event will take place Saturday, December 15 at 3:00 p.m. at the church at 100 N. Main Street.

The Community Christmas Concert has become a town tradition over the years and will once again be coordinated by the Director of Music Ministries, Evelyne Battle. Expect additional local musicians, vocalists, and school groups to share their talents with the town during this event to celebrate the Christmas season. While there is no cost to attend the concert, there will be a free-will offering to benefit the Fuel Bank administered by the Suffield Community Aid Association.

You can expect to hear a wide variety of musical groups and individuals of all ages. In past concerts, the church has hosted groups from Suffield Academy, Suffield High School, Suffield Middle School, the various Second Baptist Church choirs and groups, instrumental groups, and talented local soloists.

The Second Baptist Sanctuary Choir, Hand Bell Choir, and the SBC Singers will be among the musical groups featured in the concert this year. They will be joined by special guest groups including the Suffield High School Chamber Ensemble, Hall High School Choraliers, and both the Suffield Middle School Elite Voices and Holiday Ensemble. Jean Aldrich Jones will accompany the Second Baptist Vocal Choir and SMS Elite Voices as well as direct the Bell Choir.

It has become a tradition for everyone to join in and sing familiar carols throughout the concert. Very few – if any – concerts feature “The Twelve Days of Christmas” as performed at this event. Anyone who has attended this show can attest to the enthusiasm and joy this especially interactive piece promotes.

After the concert, all are invited to a reception of light refreshments in the church’s Fellowship Hall.     Come join your friends and neighbors for an afternoon of Christmas music, cheer, friendship, and fun.
