One of the old trolley cars at the museum in East Windsor rolls up for its run down the Tunnel of Lights.

The Connecticut Trolley Museum presents Winterfest 2018 and the Tunnel of Lights beginning Friday, November 23. Winterfest will be open from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve. Santa will be onsite in a historic caboose for photos and to give a small gift to each child until he has to fly back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. Admission prices are $15 for adults, $14 for seniors (62+), $10 for children (ages 4-12), $3 for children (3 & under). On Friday and Sunday nights, ALL adults and seniors receive a $2 discount on admission. Museum Members receive half off admission.

Winterfest and the Tunnel of Lights is celebrating its fortieth operating year as a family holiday tradition. Halls are decked both inside and outside with over 15,000 light bulbs. Outside, closed trolley cars transport jolly guests down a tunnel of lights as they sing traditional Christmas Carols with their trolley car operators. For an open air view of the Tunnel of Lights, one open sleigh car is lit up entirely with holiday lights. Be sure to dress warm and bring blankets.

Inside the Visitor Center is a Winter Wonderland where Santa meets and greets children inside a historic caboose. Multiple model train layouts, both large and small are located in the main hall, along with more full scale trolleys. Hot cocoa and warm snacks are also available for purchase inside the Visitor Center.
