Study with a Puppy

March 5 from 6–7:30 p.m. at the Suffield Youth Center (in the Senior Center)

Suffield Youth Services and library Teen Programming has teamed up to offer Study with a Puppy on the first Tuesday of each month.

Healers with Halos therapy dogs will be on-hand for high school study nights at Suffield Youth Center in the Senior Center on Bridge Street. Bring your books and headphones and we’ll provide the snacks. Give your eyes a break and go play some pool or ping pong. Grades 9–12, drop-in or sign up online at suffield-library.org

Tinker Club

March 12 from 3–4 p.m. at KML

KML is offering a Tinker Club for grades 5-8. The second Tuesday of each month will feature a new STEAM project for boys and girls to put together as a team. Sign up at suffield-library.org or call 860-668-3896 as space is limited.

We are looking for a high-schooler to lead this program. Please email wmitzel@suffield-library.org if interested.

Book Tasting for Teens March 13 from

6:30–7:30 p.m. at KML.

Teens grades 6–12 can try a bite of various books as they attend the KML Book Cafe. Sample real snacks while rotating through tables. At each table, you “taste” a book that looks interesting to you. This is a great way to “check” out books without the commitment!

Sign-up at suffield-library.org or call 860-668-3896. Thanks to the Friends of Kent Memorial Library for their support.

Meet High School Author Julia Tannenbaum

March 19 at 6:30 p.m. at KML

Grades 6-12 and parents are invited to an author talk with Julia Tannenbaum, a senior at Hall High School in West Hartford. She recently self-published her debut novel Changing Ways; a contemporary young adult story about a high schooler battling mental illness.

Register online at suffield-library.org or call 860-668-3896.

All attendees will be entered in a raffle to win a signed copy.

Book Buddies

March 21 from 4–5 p.m. at KML.

Pair your child with a caring, teen reading mentor! Book Buddies is not instruction, but rather a chance for kids to connect over the love of a good book. Open to readers grades K-3 and mentors grades 6-12. Sign up here and indicate “reader” or “mentor.” Runs every third Thursday from 4–5 p.m.
