Suffield Instrumental Music Directors Amy Wilson and Corey Killian are pleased to announce the dates of the third annual summer music camp that began with huge success just two summers ago. This year’s two week camp session will run from July 8 through July 19, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Suffield High School.
The camp is open to instrumental (band) music students entering grades 5-10. This is an exciting opportunity for children to learn an instrument, or to continue playing their school instrument and hone their skills over the summer in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Upon arrival at camp, students will be placed in an ensemble according to their performance ability. Each day, students will participate in a full ensemble similar to their daily band class, chamber music, and group lessons with a specialist on their instrument. Camp culminates with a free concert on July 18 at 6:00 where participants will share all of the work they have done during camp. The concert will be held at Suffield High School and is open to the public.
We are looking forward to a great camp experience this summer. If you have any questions or would like to enroll your student musician, check out our website: suffieldmusic.org and click the “Summer Music Camp” tab, contact your child’s music teacher, or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
