Christmas? In June?

Why in the world would we be writing about Christmas in June? Because we want to get you thinking about participating in a couple of the holiday projects that the Suffield 350th committee is working on…

Holiday Tree Gala

Last year the Suffield Garden Club inaugurated a new Suffield tradition, the Holiday Tree Gala! An amazing array of trees was created and auctioned off during their fundraiser at the Suffield Senior Center.

The 2019 Tree Gala will be hosted at the Phelps-Hatheway House (PHH), and “mannequin trees” will be among PHH holiday decorations. We are looking for local organizations, businesses, and interested individuals to participate by decorating and donating an artificial tree to be displayed during the event. Trees will be auctioned off, and proceeds from the sale will be used to fund programs, projects and events celebrating Suffield’s 350th.

“Doors of Suffield” Photo Project

The homes and barns of Suffield and West Suffield are architectural masterpieces. The purpose of this project is to capture images of their doors, including doors decorated for the holidays. Any photographer is welcome to participate. Images will be shared on social media, and some will be selected for use in posters and cards that will be sold in 2020 as a Suffield 350th fundraiser.

It’s just spring, and you are looking forward to summer fun, but please start thinking about these art projects. They will only be successful with your support.
