In a unanimous vote, on April 2, the Board of Education (BoE) hired Hebron School Superintendent Timothy Van Tasel, effective July 1, to become Suffield’s new superintendent.
The BoE worked with the New England School Development Council which coordinated the gathering of survey and focus group data from various sources including parents, community members and staff. Chairman Susan Davis said that Van Tasel stood out because of his past experience, professionalism, and educational philosophy. Van Tasel replaces Interim Superintendent Mark Winzler, who was hired last August.
