Maureen Blanchard, standing, and Dana Diamond are the proprietors of Spa 1670, a well-equipped spa in the former CVS Plaza, upstairs over Scoop du Jour and Feather & Bloom.

Have you noticed Spa 1670 on Mountain Road? Located above Feather & Bloom Marketplace, it seems to coordinate well with that shopping venue.

I met there with Estheticians Maureen Blanchard, Dana Diamond, and Sam Smethurst. I also met Sara Thompson, make-up artist, another member of the team at Spa 1670.

This energetic group of women have created a stylish and well-equipped space in which to offer their many services, which include facials, waxing, make-up, micro-current facials and dermabrasion, chemical peels, and massage. Contact the Spa members for a full description of their services.

What sets this spa business apart from others, according to these enthusiastic women, is their commitment to a holistic approach. They said that body, mind, and spirit are considered in every service being offered. When a client comes in, her or his experience begins with a discussion covering the uniqueness of that individual. A short- and long-range plan may be developed to maximize effectiveness of treatments. Dana explained, “This isn’t a ‘fluffy’ spa. We pride ourselves on being true to individual needs.”

The Spa uses all-natural, paraben-free, and organic products. Their massage techniques cover various modalities from the traditional to “cupping”, gua sha for toning and elasticity. They also use techniques from both Eastern and Western traditions.

Dana, Maureen and all the staff encourage everyone to stop by Spa 1670 to meet the staff and tour this lovely facility.
