Christmas at the Phelps-Hatheway House.

During the first week of December, the staff and friends of the Phelps-Hatheway House will begin to deck the halls for a very special holiday season in our historic setting.

As planned in conjunction with the Suffield 350th anniversary committee and the Suffield Garden Club, a festive roster of activities will take place all around our 18th and 19th century interiors and exteriors. View the ceremonial “tree ladies” of the 350th celebration, admire the 18th century Burbank and Phelps houses tastefully decorated with local greenery, gather your family and friends (or treat yourself!) to our beloved Teddy and Regency Teas, all held in our historic Pine Room. A visit from Santa and a traditional carol sing at the end of these special programs will bring magic and beauty to the season.

The 1867 Hatheway barn will also showcase additional holiday decorations and our Visitor Center will offer tickets for the Garden Club tour, a warm beverage and sweet gifts for those dear to your heart, including a special discount for those who purchase at Connecticut Landmarks membership. Phelps-Hatheway’s Home for the Holiday officially marks the final event of the museum’s 2019 calendar. Please join us in bidding farewell to our exciting season as we celebrate our beautiful town, its rich history and its dedicated people.
