Comb that mullet, tease your big hair, grab your boom box, put on those neon duds or acid washed jeans and head to the SFES auction gala “Back to the 80”s! The annual SFES fundraiser will be held at the Springfield Country Club in West Springfield, MA on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Beginning at 6 p.m. the event will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a scrumptious dinner and dancing to tunes spun by DJ Chris Kellogg, an SFES Board member and WMAS radio personality. Tickets are $90 per person. Dress is 80s themed and runs the gamut from casual (think Jennifer Gray in Dirty Dancing) to the more formal Madonna look.

In addition to mobile bidding, which proved fun and successful at last year’s auction, there will be a live auction of some very special items. This year’s “Raise the Paddle” proceeds will go toward an outdoor learning lab classroom which will include slab platforms and tower, wildlife sighting areas, tree labels, trails, etc. The town’s Conservation Commission is taking ownership of the land and spearheading the project, hoping to raise money from other town organizations.

Only 220 tickets will be sold and can be obtained, along with more information about being a sponsor, donating to the gala, or serving as a table captain, on the website www.SFES.org. There is also on the site a listing of our sponsors as of February 15 which includes Shoreline Audio/Visual and Springfield Country Club as platinum sponsors, Pamela Hardy Designs and Trailhead Financial LLC as gold sponsors, and Feather and Bloom and Carmon Funeral Homes as silver sponsors.

The auction proceeds go to support regular and mini-grants to students in the Suffield Public Schools. Since its inception the SFES has donated over $775,000 to enhance excellence in the Suffield school system. So, come join us for a fun filled evening and help us make Suffield schools even better!
