Members of the Suffield Garden Club are especially busy at this time preparing for their annual May Market to be held at the Hatheway Barn in Suffield. The date for this event is May 16, the weekend after Mother’s Day.
Members will be making unique items for gardens and gardeners. A variety of potted plants from their own perennial gardens will be offered as well as teacup floral arrangements, hanging floral baskets and gift items for that special person.
Unexpected treasures can be found at our Collectible Booths. Delectable pies, cakes and cookies will be available at our Gourmet Food Booth. A select group of hard to find shrubs and perennials will be available at our Specialty Plants Booth. As always, we will have the best geraniums around, at the lowest prices you will find anywhere, and locally grown. They sell out quickly.
Many vendors from the surrounding area will return this year. New vendors from our region will be anxious to show their wares as well. They will be set up in the barn and outdoors on the barnyard grounds. Heirloom garden plants, herbs, honey, preserves, home and garden decor, artwork, crafts, soaps, jewelry and pottery are a few of the items you will see at our May Market this year.
The Suffield Garden Club is a non-profit organization. Proceeds from this event support Suffield civic beautification, high school scholarships, as well as conservation, horticulture, and garden therapy programs.
We hope you will come out and enjoy the day and support this popular event presented by the Suffield Garden Club.
