Because most of this year’s Suffield High School graduation events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus, Safe Grad still wanted to show that they cared. Safe Grad, a parent-sponsored organization that has been raising funds for safe graduation events since 2003, contributed $1,800 for signs congratulating SHS seniors on their accomplishment. SHS teachers volunteered to distribute the signs to every senior in town as well as to Vo-Ag graduating seniors in 10 other towns in the area. Safe Grad will also sponsor a banner for the center of town as well as decorating the fence at SHS with another positive message. They plan to provide a remembrance of the students’ school years with a backpack and Suffield blanket for every senior.
Safe Grad members Cari Cieri, Cheryl Leach and Trish Martin have been hard at work this year with fundraising and organizing. Thanks to all the parents who have volunteered over the years to support the seniors and Safe Grad. Like all volunteer organizations, help is always needed and appreciated.
