This year more than ever people are getting out and enjoying their yards. For Garden Club members, the whole town is our yard – from the gardens at Phelps-Hatheway House and the dogwoods on Main Street to the Civil War Soldiers Monument, and from the South Main Street island to the Suffield gateway signs bordering Southwick, Agawam and Enfield.

If you’re like many of us and you find yourself keeping gardening tools, gloves, and knee pads in the car so they are always at hand wherever you are, you may want to just pull your car over and join in the next time you see us in somewhere.

Most Mondays we’re at Phelps-Hatheway in the main garden from 9 to 10 a.m.. On Tuesdays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., the South Main Island is the place to be, but if 8:30 a.m. is a bit too early, have your coffee and join the herb garden group at Phelps-Hatheway for  9 a.m..

Each group keeps its own schedule, some more regular and others more variable, so it’s catch as catch can, but if you can catch us, you’re sure to have a good time. Of course if you’re the type that likes to plan ahead, you can e-mail the Club at SuffieldGardenClub@gmail.com to find out where we’ll be next.

Hope to see you!
