Kent Memorial Library has been humming along since our Summer Reading program ended, because reading happens all year round! Stay tuned for all we have in store, or in the stacks, for fall!

Curbside Requests: We are so proud of our Curbside Delivery system and are working hard every day to fulfill orders. Please go to our website suffield-library.org and click on the catalog button to search for books and place requests online. Prefer to call? Give us a ring and if we’re not here, just leave a message with your name, number and the book you would like.

Curbside Hours: Monday 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., Wednesday 5-7 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drive up and call the phone number on the sign, and we will bring your requested and confirmed book order.

Pop-Up Library Days: Join us under the tents in front of the MaryAnn Zak entrance during curbside on Monday and Wednesday for a chance to browse some selected tables of books, magazines and DVDs for kids, teens and adults. We can check it out to you on the spot. Please wear a mask and take advantage of our hand sanitizer.

Children’s Curbside Crafts: Ms. Sandy is hard at work creating bags of crafts for families to take home from curbside. If you missed a monkey or a butterfly, don’t despair, just drive on up during curbside hours and pick up the latest crafts for fall!

Friends of Kent Memorial Library Book Cart: Support the library by purchasing a book or making a monetary donation during Pop-Up days at KML.

The Friends support the majority of our programming! While they aren’t collecting book donations right now, they still need your generosity to keep KML programming strong!

Adult Programs: Keep an eye on the KML Facebook page and our website for upcoming programs like Fall Wreath Making and Thanksgiving TableScapes.

Curbside pop-ups also feature fun and easy adult activities and packets to take home. See what’s offered each week by following our Facebook page @kentmemoriallibrarysuffield

Teen Programs: Thanks to our generous teen volunteers and Teen Library Council, KML has quite a bit to offer this fall! Some dates are still to be determined so keep an eye on the website and Facebook for more information.

The first TLC meeting of the season will be Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. Meetings will be held virtually on Zoom or outside the library on the lawn. Grades 6-12 invited. Sign-up on the website or email wmitzel@suffield-library.org .

Sarah’s Escape Rooms will debut this October on the KML website. These digital puzzles are an alternative to “real” escape rooms but are still filled with clues and secret locks. Check Facebook and the website for dates and more information. Grades 5 and up.

Thanks to teen volunteer Sarah Whitehouse!

Halloween Kahoot with Katy, family Style! Held on October 29 at 5 p.m. Did you miss Shark Week Trivia? Don’t miss our upcoming Kahoot Trivia Contests for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Fun prizes are up for grabs! Grades 5 and up. Thanks to Katy Finnigan, teen volunteer.

TinkerCrateClub with Connor is ready to start up! Girls and Boys grades 5-8 are invited to participate in STEM engineering projects afterschool. Although we cannot work on a collaborative project just yet, we will be meeting the second Tuesday of the month, October 13 at 3:30 p.m. either outdoors on the lawn or on Zoom. Sign-up online at suffield-library.org and pick up your Club Kit at curbside. Thanks to teen volunteer Connor Boudreau for his leadership skills.

KML Dungeons and Dragons Online begins in October. Stay tuned or sign up for more information on this program for kids grades 6-12. No experience necessary, just a great imagination!

And again, a huge thank you to the Friends of Kent Memorial Library for all their support!
