The Connecticut Department of Corrections has decided to move their Covid-19 Isolation Unit from Somers to MacDougall-Walker.
This unit will house inmates who are Covid-19 positive AND symptomatic. It will not house non-symptomatic patients as the previous unit had. I have had several conversations with both the warden, her medical staff, and the DOC Commissioners’ office regarding this.
We will receive updates regarding their census status in an effort to coordinate any additional planning that may be needed.
