Julianna Service

Suffield High School’s Rotary Student of the Month for November, Julianna is a senior and a member of our National Honor and World Language Honor Society, and is the president of both societies. She was also the World Language Student of the Month in her sophomore year.

Julianna has been in many clubs and activities during her time at Suffield High School. Beginning in the 9th grade, she participated in the Wildcat Advisory Group (WAG) and has been in it ever since. WAG is a group of students who help incoming 9th graders experience a smooth transition into high school. WAG students also attend many school events, such as Open House and Parent/Teacher conferences. Julianna is the co-president of the Interact Club, and this group works with the local Rotary Club to perform community service in our area. Julianna is a member of the Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy, where students organized a sock drive and a trivia fundraiser to raise money for scholarships. Julianna has volunteered at Baystate Medical Center, has worked the Harvest Hustle 5K and Obstacle Course, and was also the Teen Board Representative for Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, supporting families with children in long-term hospital care. She was a Group Coordinator for a two-week summer program called “Project Costa Rica” to work with and help care for children at the local orphanage, and was chosen to represent Suffield High School at the CIAC Sportsmanship Conference to receive the Sportsmanship Award for being a good role model. Finally, Julianna was in the Wingman Advisory Group, where she helped educate students on ways they can better themselves, others and their relationships.

Julianna is a Team Captain and varsity starter of SHS’s volleyball team. In addition, she is is a member of the girls’ varsity tennis team. She has received the Scholar Athlete Award in volleyball, basketball and tennis.

She has volunteered in our Writing Center and on our Student Athletic Advisory Council and High School Reimagined. She is a class representative for Class Council and an active member and volunteer at her church.

Julianna has received many Academic Excellence Awards in subjects such as English I, Geometry, Algebra II, Spanish III, AP Psychology, Pre-Calculus, Life Education, AP Calculus, AP Spanish, AP Government/History, Biology, and Physical Education. This is just a sampling of all Julianna’s awards, in addition to the Core Value Award for Responsibility, Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Smith College Book Award and Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy Scholar.

Julianna dog sits for local families, babysits, and is an academic tutor for local children. In her spare time, you might find her cooking, doing puzzles and going to the beaches.
