Kent Memorial Library presents “Books & Beyond” a new series, featuring various authors, their stories, book discussions, reader’s advisory and so much more.

First up in the series will be NY Times bestselling author Alka Joshi discussing her book The Henna Artist. This novel is inspired by Joshi’s mother and is a compelling story set in India in the 1950s. Seventeen-year old Lakshmi runs away from her abusive husband and makes a living as a henna artist to the wealthy women of Jaipur. Grab your copy at KML. Debut author Nguyen Phan Que Mai of the novel The Mountain Sing. A historical fiction book set at the time of the Vietnam War. – Wednesday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom

Canadian author Ashley Audrain will be discussing her first novel The Push, an intensely gripping psychological thriller about the making and breaking of a family. – Thursday, June 10 at 7 p.m. via Zoom
