Saturday, December 4: Suffield Holiday Festivities; Dress warmly! Stop by during your walk down Main Street. Each family can pick up a keepsake ornament and get their photo taken behind one of our nativity cut-outs.
Sunday, December 5: Come to our Christmas Workshop at 11 a.m., right after our church service. Make a few ornaments and help assemble our angel give-away for Suffield Alight.
Friday, December 24: Christmas Eve Children’s Pageant featuring a short service based on the nativity story at 5 p.m. All are welcome; we have plenty of room for your children, and costumes to share.
At 10 p.m., join us for our Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols.
Sunday, January 9: Hats for Hope! Join us at 11:15 a.m. and make a hat to share with someone in need. Everyone is invited to make a polar fleece hat with little tag attached that says “You are loved!”. Hats will be given to the homeless, locally, and to our soup kitchen clients.
Sunday, January 16: Soup Sale. Join us at 11 a.m., right after our church service, in the Fellowship Hall and get a bowl of soup to go. Help support others in our community. Pick up a container of soup and cornbread and make a donation. All proceeds will go to a local charity. If you have a soup you would like to make for the event, contact the church office 860-668-1661 and bring it to church HOT in a crockpot. When you buy any of our delicious soups, you can pick up a recipe card and make a batch yourself for National Homemade Soup Day on February 4. Share the joy.
Sunday, January 23: Birthday Cake Kit – Create a party-in-a-box at home for a child in need. Everyone loves to celebrate their special day. By participating in this project, you’ll make birthdays easier for families who are struggling. Each kit needs a foil pan, a box cake mix, can of frosting, jar of sprinkles, and a box of candles. Bring your prepared kit to Second Baptist and join us at 11 a.m., right after our church service, in the Fellowship Hall for a celebration.
