FOFAH is starting of the year with an outdoor program on Birding. Come to Hilltop on Saturday, Feb 5, at noon, where Joan Heffernan, FOFAH volunteer and renowned nature photographer will lead a “ Very Basic Birdwatching Workshop” at Hilltop Farm. Joan will provide an introduction that will help us get started in birdwatching. Topics include birding terminology, use of binoculars, identifying birds and recording of bird sightings. Participants are asked to register at www.HilltopFarmSuffield.org/events and to dress for the outdoors.
This workshop can be preparation for a fun family oriented annual event. Join in your neighbors in the Great Backyard Bird Count during February 18-22. This is the 25th year of this event and encourages us all to learn more about birds, birding and be a citizen scientist. See www.birdcount.org for additional information about this event.
