Kendall Lowry

Congratulations to Kendall Lowry, a senior at Suffield High School, for being chosen as the Rotary Student of the Month for December.  Kendall is a high-honors student at Suffield High and is a member of our National Honor Society and our World Language Honor Society.  Kendall is the Senior Editor for the Class of 2022 yearbook and is treasurer of our Best Buddies Club.  As part of Best Buddies, she helped to design cards to give to patients and veterans who could not be with their families for the holidays.  Kendall is also part of the Interact Club, which is a junior rotary club, whose motto is “Service before Self.”  She was the lead volunteer within this group to make sandwiches to donate to Enfield Loaves and Fishes.  She has been part of the Wildcat Advisory Group and Wingman Communications, where she helped to create activities to educate peers in things such as team communication and becoming a leader.  Kendall has been involved in our Spirit Squad, a group which helps to promote school spirit.  She is a member of our Varsity Field Hockey team and Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse team and was named captain of the JV Field Hockey team and a co-captain for her indoor Lacrosse team at Sports World.

Kendall has been an active volunteer with Enfield Loaves and Fishes for several years.  She has helped prepare food to be distributed at local homeless shelters, has helped to prepare and donate care packages with everyday hygiene products and snacks and has handed out flyers requesting donations for Enfield Loaves and Fishes.   Kendall has volunteered for Saint Patrick’s Church by working at the church’s Halloween party, Christmas party and their Fair-Trade Sale.  Kendall took it upon herself to coordinate a Christmas Toy Drive for Shriner’s Hospital and also spearheaded a clothing drive to provide warm winter clothing for Mercy House & My Sisters Place.  Kendall has also volunteered at various fundraisers such as a field hockey team car wash, Suffield on the Green for the Rotary Club and as a Peer Tutor for students at Suffield High School.  In addition, Kendall has worked as an intern at Moxy Boutique.

Kendall received Outstanding Achievement in Chemistry and the SHS Determination Award in Mathematics in 2018.  Kendall has received Awards of Excellence in Algebra II and the AP English Language Award in 2021.   She has been named a North Central CT Conference Scholar Athlete in Field Hockey and Lacrosse.

Kendall was nominated by Ms. Kelly Blais who said, “I have seen Kendall grow as a student and as a member of the school community over the past few years.  She has worked very hard, not only academically, but to uplift and motivate her peers around her.  She is always positive and even developed, on her own, a kindness project throughout our COVID year of school, to encourage others to “Keep Going” and “Think Positively.”  Kendall is an optimistic force in school and throughout all of the sports and out-of-school activities that she does.  She is an amazing human being and well deserving of this recognition.”

Kendall will attend college in the fall and plans to major in Marketing/Communications.  Congratulations Kendall!
