SFES Sponsors Cornhole Tournament

Although we are hopeful that we will once again be able to hold our dinner dance/auction major fundraiser, that time is not yet here. Instead, the SFES is dipping its toe into the fundraising water by breaking out some fun with a cornhole tournament which will benefit the Suffield Foundation for Excellent Schools (SFES) grant program. Former Suffield High School student Tim Burdick of Cornhole 360 and his wife, Kristen Eisenman, have graciously offered to help run the tournament as a contribution to the SFES, and we are grateful for their involvement.

The tournament will be held on Saturday, May 7 from noon until 4 p.m. at the VFW Hall at 972 Sheldon St. in West Suffield. Check in will begin at 11:30 a.m. Sylvia’s food truck will be there, and beverages will be available at the hall. The entry fee for a two-person team is $50. If you don’t have a friend to join you, you can sign up as an individual, and we will match you with someone. First prize will be $150; second prize will be $100 and third prize will be $50. The format will be double elimination so for your entrance fee you are guaranteed a minimum of two games. The tournament is limited to 24 teams, so sign up early to be sure to get a spot.
