Johanne Presser, center, along with her daughters, Mandy, left, and Deedee, took the Observer along when they summited Cadillac Mountain, the tallest peak on the U.S. Atlantic seacoast. The spot is in Acadia National Park in Maine, and one must reserve a time for the drive to the 1,530-foot peak.
Kathy Muska took the Observer to a bleak corner of the Scotland coast recently, but turned her back on the expansive ocean view. Could that be the North Sea?
“Joe DiMaggio,” the main tour cat at the Ernest Hemingway House in Key West, Florida, took a break to look over the Observer recently, which had been brought by touring Managing Editor Ann Kannen. He then returned to his main job: sleeping on the dining room table. The museum is famous for its 60 polydactyl cats (extra toes).
