Suffield Summer Farmers Market Update

Saturday, June 18 is fast approaching as we kick off our opening day for the Suffield Farmers Market.

We are excited to share some new updates we have in store for this year’s market. The Pierogi Queen will be at the first market cooking up a storm with their pierogis and kielbasa, which are always a favorite! They will also have frozen pierogis to purchase and take home. Simpaug Farm, which has been the go-to vendor for the market with their locally raised pork, will now be offering USDA inspected beef as well. Ram Spring Ranch, who joined the market late last year, will be joining us on a regular basis and this year will showcase herb and flower plants. On our first Saturday, we will welcome North Central District Health Department, who will distribute educational information and giveaways.

Many of our vendors you have come to know and enjoy from last year are returning: Cupola Hollow, Julie the Garden Fairy, Kate Evans, Tarynn Michelle, Merry Mite Wild Gardens, Mosher Farm, Vincent Farm, Tending Home Bakery, Easy Pickins, Bielonko Farms, Lefcheck Farm, and In Joy.

Details and weekly updates will be provided about any changes or weather cancellations on our facebook page, www.facebook.com/suffieldfarmersmarket. We also enjoy bringing you a “live feed” walk around weekly on what’s happening at the market. As technology becomes more important in our daily lives, we are in the process of creating an Instagram account to keep you informed as well.

The Suffield Farmers Market is held rain or shine (severe weather may cause a cancellation) every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon on the southern Town Green, conveniently located in the center of town. The Market will run through October 1.

Most of the farms in the Market participate in the WIC coupon program, and some of our vendors are now SNAP certified as well for your convenience. Credit cards are also accepted by certain vendors.
