The 42nd Annual Suffield Road Race presented by PeoplesBank took place on Saturday, September 10, and it was an amazing day! Runners from across Connecticut and Massachusetts took to the streets of Suffield in the 5K or 10K races, as well as the 2.5K walk and the Dick’s Sporting Goods’ kids’ fun run too. The walk took place on the newly opened paved pathway along Mountain Road.

Photo Scavenger Hunt & Fun Photo Workshop

Suffield Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Trees for Suffield Initiative is offering adult and youth photography workshops that will give ideas and tips, help you gain confidence, and give you more reasons to get outdoors and start taking pictures. The workshops, led by Chad Lemmens of Lemmens Creative Design (https://www.facebook.com/LemmensCreativeDesign/ and https://lemmenscreativedesign.smugmug.com) will have you excited to try new things using your camera.

After some initial instruction and a photo scavenger hunt, Chad will help you select your best photos and take them to the next level. Do you want to try aerial photography? Chad will be bringing his drones. Sunrise Park is the perfect location for terrific fall foliage, and it will be an enjoyable workshop for adults and families.

After the workshop, select your best two photos to enter in the Trees for Suffield photo contest. A small snack will also be served to celebrate the fall and Halloween season. Contest deadline is November 23, 2022. Photo categories include single-tree portraits, multi-tree landscapes and close-ups or abstracts of trees, leaves, bark, etc…
