Peggy is pictured at her New England Watercolor Art Show at the Town and Country Club in Hartford in 1994.

The Suffield Observer wanted to feature some beautiful watercolor paintings by Peggy MacKinnon as a tribute to her exceptional artistic ability. She was a highly successful watercolor artist. Peggy preferred watercolor because of “its fresh and quick result” and was in numerous art shows throughout the region. She was a member of the Academic Artist Association, the CT Watercolor Society and The West Hartford Art League.

Peggy MacKinnon’s memorable watercolor shows the “Soldiers Monument” from an unusual angle.

Many Suffield residents have her amazing paintings displayed in their homes. She was a truly remarkable and talented woman.

In this painting, Peggy recorded two old homes on North Main Street, just north of Suffield Academy.

Peggy was a long-time volunteer at The Suffield Observer. She wrote book reviews monthly for the paper and she was a co-manager of our proofreading team.

A frequent traveler, Peggy kept a vivid record of a variety of scenes. This one captures the spirit of Second Beach, in Rhode Island.

We will miss her.
