Our journey into the Lent Season for 2023 continues with our theme “Bless the Lent We Actually Have”.
Holy Week begins on April 2 with our Palm Sunday Service. Palm Sunday recalls Jesus entering into Jerusalem; a reminder of the welcoming of Jesus into our hearts and of our willingness to follow him.
Our Maundy Thursday Service is April 6 at 7 p.m. in our Sanctuary. Maundy Thursday, the Thursday before Easter, is observed in commemoration of Jesus Christ and the Last Supper with the Apostles.
Our Good Friday Service will be held at 3 p.m. on April 7 in our Sanctuary. Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death.
Easter Sunday, April 9, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at 6 a.m. with our community Sunrise Service at Sunrise Park. All are welcome to attend this moving sunrise service.
Our Easter Celebration Service will be held at 10 a.m. in our Sanctuary. All are welcome to join us. Christ is risen!
Our Blessing Box is located right in front of First Church on High St and is open to our neighbors and community members to “take what you need; leave what you can.” We encourage our community to donate; please do not donate perishable foods or foods requiring refrigeration.
First Church hosts support groups in our building for their meetings, including Narcotics Anonymous, Families Anonymous, and Alcoholics Anonymous. Contact us for the full list of meeting information.
As COVID-19 Suffield community levels fluctuate, we will monitor the Conn. State community levels Covid Levels map and make weekly recommendations for masking based on the information available.
