Spring is a busy time for the Suffield Land Conservancy (SLC), and we have several events planned. We hope that you will join us for our annual wildflower walk at Sunrise Park on Sunday, May 7. SLC director, Joellen Woodworth, will take us on a colorful tour around the lake looking for numerous species of flowers and plants. We will gather at 1 p.m. in the parking lot and then head north along the lakeshore trail.
On Saturday, May 13, SLC director, Art Sikes will lead a bird watching expedition at the McClean Outdoor Educational Preserve on Sheldon Street. We will meet at 8 a.m. in the high school parking lot. Bring a pair of binoculars or share a pair with others. We saw a wide variety of wonderful birds last year.
Lastly, we hope to see you at the Suffield Garden Club’s May Market on May 20 at the Hatheway House. We will have a booth featuring the McClean Preserve as well as information on our various properties. Spring has sprung, and we hope you enjoy its beauty at our numerous properties around town.
