The Suffield Garden Club has been awarded a grant by the Suffield Greater Together Community Fund at the Hartford Foundation. The award of $2,250 recognizes the scope and intent of the Trees for Suffield Initiative and will support the “Trees for Free” pilot program.

This roadside shade tree program will provide a FREE native sapling shade tree (mature size 25’ – 90’) to 15 qualifying Suffield residents on a first come, first served basis until supplies run out. To qualify, homeowners must have a wide open, roadside location bordering their property and must pledge to water and maintain the tree.

Qualifying homeowners are encouraged to apply by mailing or bringing the entry form below to the Conservation office at the Town Hall.

If selected, Trees for Suffield will come to your house, help you site the tree and assist in planting it. We’ll provide soil amendment and mulch to give your tree an extra boost. Trees will be planted in the fall.
