First Church of Christ, Congregational UCC of Suffield is an open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. First Church welcomes all to join us in worship Sunday mornings at 10:00 am, in-person or through our YouTube livestream.

No matter who you are, or where you are, on life’s journey, YOU are welcome here. Come as you are, for this is God’s house — a house of prayer for all people, and God welcomes each one who comes.

November brings exciting moments to First Church!

Join First Church, and other locations across Suffield, for Christmas in Suffield, a community craft and vendor fair, Saturday Nov. 4, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. First Church of Christ participates and will be hosting local crafters, vendors, a bake sale, a basket raffle, an “Attic Treasures” tag sale, and Eddie’s Country Store’s local foods, eggs, meats, jams. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to shop early for Christmas!

On Sunday, Nov. 5, we worship together celebrating All Saints Day. This Sunday service will commemorate all our saints: our ancestors; people of faith who carried and passed on our faith stories on to us; and individuals who followed God’s call, both within Christianity and outside our tradition. It will include both un-named and everyday saints.

Together we “Rise Against Hunger” on Sunday, Nov. 12 with our Meal Packaging Event for Rise Against Hunger (RAH). Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies. Join other First Church members and friends directly after worship as we joyfully support this wonderful mission. We will gather together to package meals to be distributed through RAH to places around the world to help feed those who are hungry. Thousands of meals will be packaged that day through the help of all who are able. All are welcome to join us as we Rise Against Hunger!

Join the Greater Suffield Interfaith Council and local faith leaders from our community on Sunday, Nov. 19 for our Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, as we join in celebration and thanksgiving with this moving and multi-faceted tradition the Sunday before Thanksgiving. This multi-faith service is a beautiful and sacred opportunity to worship together as one community. Service begins at 4 p.m. and is hosted at Second Baptist Church, 100 N. Main St, Suffield, CT 06078.

Rev. Diann continues to run a dedicated and vibrant Wednesday morning Bible study group at 10 a.m. each week via Zoom; contact us for more information.

Our Blessing Box is located right in front of First Church on High Street and is open to our neighbors and community members to “take what you need; leave what you can”. We encourage our community to donate; please do not donate perishable foods or foods requiring refrigeration.

First Church hosts support groups in our building for their meetings, including Narcotics Anonymous, Families Anonymous, and Alcoholics Anonymous. Contact us for the full list of meeting information.

Church in-office hours are Tuesdays-Fridays 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Questions and general inquiries should be directed to office@fcsuffield.org, or by leaving a message at 860-668-7223.
