2023 Fall Soccer

Over 280 Suffield kids are currently participating in the Fall Parks & Recreation season. The Suffield Soccer Stars have learned new skills while having lots of fun! Soccer practices started on Tuesday, September 5. Each Saturday through November 11 players participate in games against one another. There have been many goals scored and tremendous sportsmanship all around throughout the season. Our volunteer coaches have done a tremendous job each week planning practices and putting all of their effort into the season with one goal in mind, providing the kids with a fun and educational fall soccer experience.

Parks & Recreation soccer players supported the Suffield High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team on Friday, October 6 during Parks and Recreations Night.

Friday, October 6 was Parks & Recreation Night at the Suffield Boys Varsity Soccer Game. Before the game, our Parks & Recreation players were on the field during introductions to give the Varsity Soccer players “high fives” as they ran onto the field. The pregame soccer field was illuminated by Parks & Recreation players wearing their team’s colored jerseys. The Parks & Recreation group then enjoyed cheering on the varsity team throughout the first half. At halftime, Parks & Recreation players were then able to compete against one another on the High School turf underneath the bright lights. The night concluded with a Suffield Boys Soccer 5-0 win against East Windsor. The night was a success and gave our Parks & Recreation players some inspiration about where they will be playing in a couple of years.

2023 Fall Flag Football

The Suffield Parks & Recreation Department is currently running our fourth season of Flag Football. Participants are currently running, throwing, and catching many touchdowns throughout the season. This season has taught participants many useful football skills while having fun playing with their teammates. We would like to thank all of our coaches, referees, and parents for all their time and effort. We look forward to the end of the year playoffs coming up in the beginning of November.

2023 Summer Race Series Community Aid Donation

Friends, family, and race clubs gathered this summer for a fun 5K race to support a great cause. Bruce Park and the High School Cross Country course were the locations of the five-week race series (June 19, June 26, July 3, July 10, and July 17th). Ben Campion worked alongside the Suffield Parks and Recreation Department to improve community wellness while raising funds for Suffield Community Aid. The Suffield community broke previous race attendance records many times throughout the summer. Through Ben Campion’s hard work, the Suffield Park & Recreation Department was able to raise $383 for Suffield Community Aid. These funds will go straight towards Suffield residents in need. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the race series throughout the summer. We look forward to conducting this fundraiser again next year.
