A holiday cheer at Suffield Alight. Mr. and Mrs. Claus even had a strong connection to Rotary.

The morning of December 9 was our 8th Annual Salt and Sand for Seniors. We filled and delivered five-gallon buckets to any Suffield Seniors who signed up or requested a delivery. Many thanks to the Suffield Department of Public Works for allowing us to fill our pails. Watch for sign-ups for next December in November 2024 in the Observer and on local social media.

Suffield Rotary and the SHS Interact Club continue to collect old cell phones and other handheld devices to go toward saving Chimpanzees and Gorillas in Africa. Did you get a new cell phone over the holidays, or did you find an old model while cleaning stuff out? Drop-off boxes are located at the Kent Memorial Library, Town Hall, Suffield Senior Center, and Suffield High School in the Main Office.

Suffield Rotary celebrated the holidays on January 9 at the Blue Room Café in Chicopee, MA. Despite the pouring rain and fog, we enjoyed a buffet from Copperline, fellowship and a White Elephant Swap. The Blue Room is a nice little neighborhood establishment (think Cheers) owned and operated by Suffield Rotarian, Mike Loudon. It is well worth the drive if you are looking for someplace new and nearby to check out.

Is 2024 the year you become a Rotarian? If you are interested in joining us, please reach out to any club member or contact, ndonais@snet.net. We currently meet every other Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Three Figs on Mountain Road in Suffield. Join us!
