Movies at the Library –  KML is showing movies again! Visit our website at www.suffield-library.org/ for more information, including this month’s movie showtimes.

NEW Wanderlust Club – Introducing the Wanderlust Club – where travel enthusiasts unite to celebrate the thrill of adventure and discovery. Come join your fellow travelers (or people interested in learning about different places) to swap stories, share experiences and travel tips! April 24 at 2 p.m. at Kent Memorial Library.

Fiber Friendly – Wednesdays, April 3 and 17 at 4 p.m.
Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting, embroidering, or engaging in other fiber-related interests? Bring a project you’re working on or start something new! Join us on alternate Wednesdays for conversation, camaraderie, and fiber artistry. No registration required; marble table seats 10. Open to all ages; people under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Books and Beyond Discussion with Erica Bauermeister –  Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. on Zoom.
Erica Bauermeister will be joining us to discuss her latest novel No Two Persons via Zoom on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. Registration is required. Copies of the book are available at the library.

Thursday Readers Book Discussion Group – Thursday, April 25 at 1 p.m.
Get together on the last Thursday of the month with other readers to discuss a book. Books are available at the library. Registration is not required. The April title will be Yellowface by R.F. Kuang.

Eclipse Party – The library will be giving out eclipse glasses for the solar eclipse on April 8. First come, first served. While supplies last.

Qigong for Spring – Tuesdays, April 2, 9, 16 and 23 at 10:30 a.m.
Ready to dust off those winter cobwebs? Join us Tuesdays in April at Kent Memorial Library as we welcome the warmth and growth of a new season with “Qigong for Spring”.

Prepare to stretch, strengthen, and balance your body and mind as we root deep to build resilience and flexibility. Qigong combines standing exercises and flowing movements with rhythmic breathing to promote relaxation and vitality. All levels welcome. Kid and Teen Programs

Nutmeg Book Club – Thursday, April 18 at 3:30 p.m.
Join us for our KML Nutmeg Book Club! The April book will be Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy by Tui Sutherland. Books will be available to check out at the library. Open to all people in grades 5-12. No registration required.

Rhyme Time – Fridays, April 5, 12, 19, and 26 at 10:30 a.m.
Recommended Ages 0-5

Drop in Craft with Miss Sandy – Saturday April 27 10:30 to 12:30. Come visit the children’s room and do a fun craft with Miss Sandy. Ages 3-12. No registration required. While supplies last.

Kids’ Poetry Writing Contest – Do you love writing poetry? In honor of Poetry Month, local students are invited to submit one original poem for a chance at a poetry-related prize pack. Thank you to the Friends of the Kent Memorial Library for supporting this and other programs. Submissions accepted Monday, April 1 through Saturday, April 20. Movies – There will be two movies for the kids during school vacation week. Check our website for details as it gets closer.

Time for Tots – On Tuesday, April 9 at 10:30 am OR on Wednesday, April 10 at 10:30 a.m. For ages 1-3. We’ll be celebrating animals and colors! Join us for felt board stories, songs, and a craft! Registration required.

Nutmeg Book Voting – Did you read the Nutmeg books? It’s time for voting! If you aren’t voting at McAlister, come vote at the library between April 1-April 30. By May the new lists will be out!! And if you haven’t read the books yet — visit the library, we’ve got copies!

Drawing Insects with Rick Stromoski – Wednesday April 17 1:30 for ages 6-12. Registration required.
