The Suffield Board of Selectmen enacted a Charter Review Commission on April 17, 2024. The Commission will be tasked with considering the possibility of having the Town Clerk, Treasurer and Tax Collector become hired, rather than elected positions, and will recommend changes as appropriate. A vote by residents will ultimately determine any revisions to the Town Charter.
The town is currently looking for residents to serve on the Commission. All residents registered to vote in the Town of Suffield are eligible to serve. We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and skill sets. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, including a brief description of qualifications, by the end of business on May 8 to Kris Lambert at klambert@suffieldct.gov. The Board of Selectmen will make appointments on May 15.
