Volunteers clean headstones at the Old Cemetery.
Sibbil Dwight Kent Chapter of the DAR explained the process and the tools used for their work in the Old Cemetery after the Witness Stone Ceremony for Old Ti given by Bill Sullivan’s class at Suffield Academy on May 4. Joining with the Suffield Historical Society and First Church, we were honored to remember those who have come before us.
The demonstration was made possible with a grant from The Suffield Greater Together Community Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving which provided funds for the purchase of equipment needed for the restoration and preservation at the Old Cemetery.
