Mini Bus Trips – All trips require five passengers and are weather permitting. Please call 860-668-3844 to make a reservation.

  • Lunch at Cheesecake Factory – Tuesday, June 4: Pickups begin 11 a.m.
  • Shopping at Walmart –Thursday, June 6: Pickups begin 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch at Zantos – Friday, June 14: Pickups begin 11:30 a.m.
  • Shopping at Westfarms Mall – Monday, June 17: Pickups begin 9 a.m.
  • Shopping at Trader Joe’s – Thursday, June 20: Pickups begin 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch at Lulu’s – Tuesday, June 25: Pickups begin 11:30 a.m.
  • Mashantucket Pequot Museum – Thursday, June 27: Pickups begin 8:30 a.m. Senior Admission $20

Lunch Menu – Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Lunches are $5 and include coffee, tea, cold beverage and dessert.

Tuesday

  • June 4 Greek orzo salad, crispy chicken tenders with dipping sauce and roll and butter.
  • June 11 Summer Kickoff BBQ with Jimmy Mazz – Hamburger and hot dog, macaroni salad and baked beans
  • June 18 Oven baked haddock fish filets, tartar sauce, mashed potatoes and vegetables.
  • June 25 Cheesy baked chicken and peppers, baked potato and sliced cucumbers

Wednesday

  • June 5 Pineapple ham casserole, beets with goat cheese and balsamic glaze
  • June 12 Cheese tortellini with creamy bacon and broccoli sauce with tossed salad
  • June 19 Taco spaghetti and fiesta corn salad
  • June 26 Rigatoni with sausage, tomatoes and zucchini with cheesy garlic bread

Thursday

  • June 6 Philly cheesesteak garlic bread and marinated vegetable salad
  • June 13 Lemon rosemary chicken, green beans, potatoes, foil packet with roll and butter
  • June 20 Chicken, zucchini and corn burgers on a roll with lettuce and tomato and French fries
  • June 27 Shepherd’s pie and roll and butter

Flower Arrangement Class
Tuesday, June 18 Morning Classes 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Evening Classes 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Join local floral design instructor, Bob Whitney AIFD, in this creative class, you will create a flower arrangement with guided step-by-step directions. No previous floral design experience required. Sugar Scrub Making Class

Painting Class
Tuesday, June 25 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Canvas Painting of a Summer Sunset
Join local artist and art instructor, Nina Chrisanthopoulos, in this fun class you will create a painting with guided step by step directions. No art experience required. All supplies included. $25 Residents; $30 Nonresidents per Person.

Monday, June 24 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Women’s $15; Men’s $10 Cash or check. Must come with clean, washed hair.

AARP Safe Driver Course
Upcoming Classes: Tuesday, July 16, Tuesday, October 15 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
$20 AARP Member; $25 Non-Member Payment by cash or check to the instructor. $5 per person facility fee is paid directly to the Senior Center. By cash or check on the day of the class.

Director’s Corner
Hello June! Please join in welcoming Bethany Sullivan to the Town of Suffield! Bethany has joined our team as the new Assistant to the Community Services Director. Bethany will be responsible for senior programming and assisting me as well! We are so excited to welcome her to our wonderful community and Senior Center family!

With the summer months approaching, I hope you get a chance to stop by the Senior Center and check out all the happenings or to have a visit in the sun on our patio! We have ample parking if you drive, take advantage of our Mini Bus transportation to get here or we are close enough for a walk. However, when you get here, just get out and socialize while doing something fun.
