The Suffield Garden Club Memorial fund was thrilled to present three awards to graduating Agriscience seniors on May 16. Eligible seniors were those who planned to continue their training or education in areas related to the Garden Club’s mission, including botany, conservation, floral design, horticulture, forestry, landscape design, and soil sustainability. In addition, they had to exhibit high academic performance, outstanding leadership in their school or community, and plan to play a significant role in the world of agriculture.

Awards were presented to:

  • Samantha Wysocki of West Suffield for her continued study of Forestry.
  • Aiden Gelinas of East Granby for his pursuit of Landscape Architecture.
  • Griffin Mandirola of Suffield for his continued study in Sustainable Plant and Soil Systems.

Each student devoted many hours of active volunteer work in their fields, and each maintained solid academic performance. “We were moved and delighted to read all of the applications,” said Memorial Fund Chair Jean Matejek. “It was hard to narrow it down to only three awards.”
