I could use this editorial to continue to shed light on the inexplicable series of events that have led to the Suffield Historical Society’s demolition of the stables at the King House Museum property which sits prominently in the Suffield Historic District and on the National Register of Historic Places. Instead, I ask our readers to take 19 seconds out of their day to listen to the video posted by Emerald PV on Suffield Forum that has gained over 10,000 views as of this writing: https://tinyurl.com/KingHouseMuseumStables. If inaccessible, the June 10 video shows a bulldozer demolishing the stables. More importantly, if you close your eyes and listen, you will hear the mighty stables putting up its final fight against its destroyers only to be razed to the ground forever. These are the haunting sounds of the stables.
