Kindness Matters in Suffield Public Schools

Students returning to school on Thursday, August 29, were met with a simple but powerful message that kindness matters, thanks to the generosity of the Meghan Voisine Kindness Matters Fund. As students boarded buses and entered school buildings, they were met by staff wearing matching t-shirts that read simply “Kindness Matters.” The t-shirts were designed by Spaulding second grader Charlotte Baranski. Throughout the day the message was reiterated, as every Suffield Public School employee was adorned in the powerful message, including custodians, cafeteria workers, nurses, school counselors, paraprofessionals, administrative assistants and teachers.

A powerful welcome awaited Suffield students on their first day of school.

School employees were supported in delivering this message by the First Selectman’s office and friends at Kent Memorial Library. It is the hope of the school system that this message is reiterated and lived each and every day of the 2024/2025 school year. A special thank you to Chad Lemmens, who supported the effort and generously donated his time and expertise, taking drone photos. If you would like to further support our efforts and the Meghan Voisine Kindness Matters Fund, additional adult sized t-shirts (M, L, XL and 2XL) are available for $10.
